Chinese mainland warns against Taiwan military's provocations
A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday said the mainland is closely following Taiwan military's movements in Kinmen.
Any provocative move Taiwan military takes is doomed to fail, said Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.
Chen made the comments in response to a media query concerning Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities' announcement of its planned Kinmen live ammunition firing in April.
Whether it is "routine" training or "targeted" provocation, the DPP authorities know better than anyone else, said Chen.
Compatriots in Kinmen have experienced the transformation between peace and war and have a growing desire for peace. They have made the right choice between "firing guns" and "building bridges," said Chen.
